🌍 World Clock

See the current time in major cities around the world at a glance. The clocks update every second and daylight saving is handled automatically.

About the World Clock

This world clock displays the current wall-clock time in several major cities using the browser's built-in Intl.DateTimeFormat API with IANA time zone identifiers. Because it relies on your browser's time zone database, daylight saving time (DST) transitions are applied automatically — no manual offset adjustments needed. The display refreshes every second so the seconds tick live.

Why do some cities share the same time?

Cities in the same time zone observe the same standard time. For example, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei are all in UTC+8. Conversely, cities that are geographically close can be in different zones — for instance, Tokyo (UTC+9) is one hour ahead of Shanghai (UTC+8).

What is daylight saving time?

Daylight saving time (DST) is the practice of advancing clocks by one hour during the warmer months so that evenings have more daylight. Not every country observes DST — Japan, China, and most of Africa do not. The start and end dates also differ between regions. This tool applies the correct DST rules for each city automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Are the times accurate? Yes, as long as your device's clock is correct. The tool reads the current UTC instant from your system and formats it for each time zone.

Does this tool upload any data? No. Everything happens locally in your browser.

Why is the offset shown for each city? The offset (such as UTC+9) tells you how far ahead or behind UTC a zone is at the current instant, which is useful for planning calls across regions.
